Counseling Groups
Stowell Elementary Parents,
Throughout the school year, I hold various groups for our children on different topics. Any child can be involved in these groups as long as you feel there is a need for your child to be in the particular group you signed up for.
The purposes of these groups are to help our Stowell kids with any area they might need assistance in. There will be other boys and girls of the same age and grade. We will do different activities for 6-8 weeks in hopes to give them a “support” for the particular group they are in. Each group will be held during the “Enrichment” time of day which is from 2:15-3pm. Your child will have group every 6 days. The following groups will be held in the 2009-2010 school year:
1. Friendship group
2. Study skills group
3. Anger Management group
4. Self-control group
5. Divorce group
6. Self-esteem group
I also hold a group for 4th and 5th grade girls. The group this year, is also going to involve 3rd grade girls and it will be held after school on Thursday’s from 3:30-4:30.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Beaston

Please check out the following website:
Stowell Elementary is in it’s 2nd year as a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) school. Our three school-wide expectations are: Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. Your children hear these words on a daily basis.
Please let me know if you have any questions about PBS!
Sincerely,

Welcome back Stowell Elementary. 2010 is well on it’s way. We have a lot of things to accomplish before the end of the school year.
I am looking forward to coming into your classrooms to continue to teach you about bullying.
I am also looking forward to the “Paws-itive” Behavior Celebration coming up at the end of January for those students who show “Paws-itive” behavior and are always being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.
Also, remember that I am keeping an eye out for those students in each class that are consistently being a leader for their class and doing the right thing each and every day they come to school. Those students who show this, will receive the “Paws-itive” Behavior Award for being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!
Happy New Year!
Mrs. Beaston
